Sonora Area Foundation Continues To Thrive Despite Shrinking Economy
Sonora, CA — Even in a down economy, the Sonora Area Foundation has enjoyed its third best year ever in private donations received.
According to Executive Director Mick Grimes the Foundation has received $1.5 million plus in 2008.
On the flip side the Foundation recently gifted the ATCAA Food Bank and Interfaith Services $20,000 each. In addition $66,000 was granted to the Tuolumne County Museum to go toward a system of moveable shelving and storage improvements.
$5,850 went to Stage 3 to complete seating improvements at the downtown Sonora theatre and $1,600 was gifted to the Sierra Nonprofit Services Center to support its Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award.
Grimes adds the Foundation has gifted Tuolumne County non-profits $1,325,000 this year.
