Measure K Set For Tuesday Vote
San Andreas, CA — There is only one Mother Lode bond measure set for Tuesday´s vote and it´s Measure K in Calaveras County.
The $18.8 million bond measure would construct permanent classrooms, build new science classrooms, make repairs and upgrades for ADA compliance, replace aging HVAC systems and built a district aquatics center for the Bret Harte Union High School District.
Major portions of Measure K include $2.5 million to construct 10 new classrooms, $2.4 million for an aquatics center, $1.4 million for a district wide HVAC updgrade, $1.3 million for a playing fields upgrade and a million dollars toward a Copperopolis area high school.
Superintendent Mike Chimente states that the cost to taxpayers would never surpass $12.20 per $100,000 of assessed property valuation. For example if you own a $300,000 home the additional tax would amount to $36.60 per year or $3.05 per month.
