Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Friday the Tuolumne Narcotics Team, members of S.W.A.T. (Special Weapons and Tactics) along with other patrol and jail deputies eradicated 6,357 marijuana plants from an area above the Beardsley Reservoir.

The plants ranged in height between three and five feet. The garden appeared to have been 75 percent harvested Thursday evening. No weapons or suspects were seized.

With the exception of a private helicopter service no other agencies were involved in this eradication effort.

Depending on the level of THC, the plants are valued at between $1,000 and $2,000 per plant. Using an average figure of $1,500 per plant, the Sheriff´s Office effectively took $9,535,500 out of the pockets of the Mexican Drug Trafficking Organization.
