CHP Reminds Motorists Not To Drink And Drive On Super Bowl Sunday
San Andreas, Ca — Now that Super Bowl weekend has arrived, the CHP is asking motorists to remember the dangers of drinking and driving.
“Being arrested for driving under the influence is 100 percent preventable,” says Officer Jaime Castillo. “The designated driver program does work.”
Last year there were 214 alcohol related collisions in California on Super Bowl Sunday. CHP officers made 468 arrests for driving under the influence.
The CHP is encouraging motorists to report drunk drivers by dialing 911. When calling, be sure to note the location and direction that the driver is traveling as well as information about the vehicle.
