Sonora, Ca — A man who was wanted in connection with a homicide in El Dorado County was arrested in East Sonora Saturday morning.
At 10:29am, the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department received a call from El Dorado County saying that the suspect may be in the Sonora area.
Sgt. Jim Oliver says the unidentified suspect made a phone call to a friend in Tuolumne County, and said that he was on his way to Yosemite National Park.
Dispatchers were able trace the call to Flyers Shell Station on Mono Way, across from the Junction Shopping Center.
Witnesses say that law enforcement officers arrived on scene and located the suspect. A short struggle ensued, and the man was eventually taken into custody.
Sgt. Oliver says limited information is known at this time. Law enforcement officials with the Sheriff´s Office, Sonora PD, U.S. Forest Service, Highway Patrol and Caltrans were all on scene.
