Sonora Youngster Dies Following New Melones Incident
Sonora, CA — Four year old Mikey D. Caropreso of Sonora died Thursday evening at the Oakland Children´s Hospital.
It was last Saturday that four year old Mikey Caropreso of Sonora was with his family at New Melones when something went terribly wrong. Rhonda Coville is a certified nursing assistant and she quickly administered C.P.R. to the youngster who went missing while playing with other children.
A responding ambulance transported Mikey to Sonora Regional Medical Center. He was then moved to Oakland Children´s Hospital where he was placed on a ventilator. Doctors commented that Mikey had suffered major organ damage. He passed away at 9:25 Thursday evening. A celebration of his life followed in the hospital´s courtyard.
A fundraising car wash will start Sunday morning at 8:30 at McCoy Tire on Stockton Rd. and volunteers will be on hand until the last car is washed.
Donations can also be made for the Caropreso family at Wells Fargo Bank in Mikey´s name. The family has no medical insurance.
