Property Owner Cited For Second Vegetation Fire

San Andreas, CA — A Calaveras County vineyard owner has been cited for igniting the second vegetation fire on his property in just the last couple of weeks.

According to CAL Fire Communications Operator Maryjo Boone CAL Fire and San Andreas crews responded to the Thursday afternoon fire at Mountain Ranch Rd. and Windmill Court following the initial call at 2:28.

CAL Fire responded with all aircraft, six engines, one dozer and two hand crews. San Andreas supplied one engine and a water tender.

The fire burned three acres before a 3:30pm containment. There was one firefighter injury.

A citation was issued to the property owner. This marks the second vegetation fire on this property. The first was caused by a malfunctioning water pump … the Thursday fire ignited during a mowing operation.
