CHP Reminds Motorists of School Bus Laws

Sponsored by:

Throughout most of the Motherlode, school is about to go back into session and that means that school buses will be back on the local roadways. CHP Officer Brad Schultz was today´s featured “Newsmaker of the Day” on AM 1450 KVML

Schultz said, “The newer buses now have yellow lights and red lights. When you see the yellow lights, it is a warning that the red lights will be coming on. It works similar to a regular traffic light.”

Motorists must stop both ways when a school bus has its red lights on.

Schultz also reminds residents that they are invited to stop by the CHP office in Jamestown and have their child safety seat looked at. This is a courtesy and citations will not be issued if the seat is not properly installed. Simply call the CHP office ahead of time and schedule an appointment with either Wills or Brad Schultz

The “Newsmaker of the Day” can be heard each weekday morning at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47 on AM-1450 KVML.
