Suspect Who Led Officer On Chase To Appear In Court Next Week

Sonora, CA — A trial readiness conference for Peter Loren Barrett has been scheduled for July 20th at 8:30am in Department One of Tuolumne County Superior Court.
The 20-year-old allegedly led Sonora Police Officer Jeff Aitken on a high speed chase on May 16th. Officer Aitken has returned to the Sonora area and is still recovering from injuries sustained. Barrett is pleading not guilty to charges of evading an officer and reckless driving. The case is being prosecuted by District Attorney Donald Segerstrom.
