Roadwork On Highway 108, 49, 26 And 4
Caltrans road work will impact some commutes in the Mother Lode this week.
Work continues at the Yosemite Junction for a stoplight, as reported here. Pavement work this week from O’Byrnes Ferry up the hill from the Yosemite Junction is scheduled to begin Sunday at 9 p.m. with a break between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. then conclude at 4 p.m. each day this week through Friday.
Caltrans will limit traffic to one-lane at night on Woods Creek bridge. The work is scheduled at night from Monday through Friday from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Motorists should expect 15-minute delays. Other bridge work on the Stanislaus River Bridge will lead to intermittent one-way traffic control and cause 10-minute delays. The Stanislaus bridgework is scheduled from Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Also on HWY 108, in East Sonora, the bridge over Peaceful Oak Road will be worked on by Caltrans crews at night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. expect 10 minute delays Sunday evening through Friday morning.
In Calaveras on Highway 49 tree work in the area of San Antonio Creek and Connel Lane will limit the highway to one-lane of traffic. The work is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
On Highway 4 Caltrans crews will be spraying from Upper Moran Road to the Big Trees Park Entrance. The work begins Monday at 6 AM and will wrap up at 6 PM and will continue through Friday. Traffic will be limited to one lane and cause delays of 10 minutes. Caltrans will also have utility work restricting traffic to one lane from 6 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday from Lashkoff Place to Moran Road. Expect traffic to be delayed 5 minutes.
In Calaveras on Highway 4 Calaveras County Water District’s (CCWD) is replacing the pipeline that runs between Avery and Forest Meadows. Expect crews on the right shoulder between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. CCWD officials said the project will continue through the fall, stop during the winter and wrap up next year in the fall of 2020. Project details were released in our news story here.
Continuation of the road striping along 43 miles of HWY 4 from the Old Highway Connector to the Calaveras/Alpine County Line, will cause a moving closure of the one-lane and cause 10-minute delays. The work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM.
On Highway 26 in Calaveras County at Hwy 49 in the Mokelumne Hill area and along the 20 miles to the Calaveras/Amador County Line road striping may cause 10-minute delays. The work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Hwy 26 from the Campo Seco Turnpike to Andrew Lane tree work will intermittently close traffic down to one lane. The work is scheduled for Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on Wednesday utility work will limit traffic to one lane on Hwy 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Main Street to Winton Road in West Point.
Caltrans asks motorists to obey signs and flaggers while slowing down around crews and equipment in the cone zones. Road projects are subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction-related issues.
