New Era For Stevenot
Murphys, CA – The Stevenot wine label has been purchased by Oliveto Distributing.
“We are very honored and excited to have this opportunity,” says David Oliveto, co-owner. “We want to carry on the tradition of Barden Stevenot and grow the business.”
Chuck Hovey has been hired to be the winemaker. Hovey spent 24 years with Stevenot before leaving in 2007 to start Hovey Wine Consulting.
Stevenot Wine will still be sold out of the Murphys tasting room at 458 Main St. A remodeling of the tasting room is scheduled for the near future and will include softer lighting, a granite topped wine bar, antique hutch and the addition of a gift shop.
Co-owners Jon Oliveto and David Oliveto, brothers, currently reside in Calaveras County.
Stevenot Winery planted its first vineyard in 1974 and its first vintage was released in 1978.
