Crews Fighting Yosemite Fire

Yosemite, CA — A fire in an isolated area of Yosemite National Park has grown to 210 acres.

Park officials report that the Bald Fire was likely started on June 5th by a lightning strike, and it was first spotted over weekend. The fire is 1 ½ miles northwest of Aspen Valley, and is situated in Tuolumne County. Resources from the Stanislaus National Forest and Sequoia National Park are lending assistance.

The Bald Fire is located at 6,200 ft. elevation. Communities around Yosemite may experience drift smoke over the coming days.
