Mokelumne Hill Has A New Millionaire

Sponsored by:

Mokelumne Hill, CA – A Home Inspector in Mokelumne Hill is now a multi-millionaire. Thomas Reese is the winner of two million dollars thanks to a California Lottery ticket.

Thomas Reese says he was heading to the hardware store for supplies, but decided to stop at S & S Trading Post off Highway 49 in Mokelumne Hill. He says he bought the ticket with a “LIFE” symbol to automatically win $100,000 a year for 20 years on it and he won.

Reese raced home to tell his wife Joyce. He says she was in denial, walking around saying “No, No, No.”

Joyce says it was agony waiting through the weekend to claim the prize at the Lottery’s Sacramento District Office on September 10th. Joyce says “Somebody had to stay home at all times.” Thomas says “We kept it locked up.”

The couple says they were already planning a trip to Hawaii and now they can really relax and enjoy it. Joyce says “We’re going to have a really good time and not going to have to penny pinch it.”

One additional note, California Lottery Officials report Calaveras County public schools have received over $21 million in Lottery funds to date.
