Update: La Grange Fire Contained

Update 1:30 p.m.: Cal Fire reports the vegetation fire has been contained at an acre. There is no official word on what sparked the blaze that began in a travel trailer that was being used as a home on the property in the 9000 block of Laredo Drive in La Grange and spread to nearby vegetation. The fire is under investigation and the trailer had extensive damage.

Update at 12:30 p.m.: Cal Fire reports that the structure fire started in a travel trailer that was being used as a home on the property in the 9000 block of Laredo Drive in La Grange.  The structure fire has been extinguished. Crews have also stopped the vegetation fire’s forward rate of spread . The burn area is about an acre in size. Aircraft have been released but a small ground crew will remain on scene for a couple of hours mopping up and checking for hot spots.

Update at 12:05pm: We continue to monitor a fire burning in Mariposa County. It is in the 9000 block of Laredo Drive in La Grange. CAL Fire reports that it started as a structure fire that has now spread to 1/4 acre of vegetation. Crews are battling the blaze from both the air and ground.

Original story posted at 11:40am: La Grange, CA — Various aircraft from Columbia are responding to a reported vegetation fire in the La Grange area.

It is in the 9000 block of Laredo Drive in Mariposa County. Ground resources are also responding. The size of the fire is not immediately clear, but you will notice activity in the area.
