Sonora Will Vote On Budget
Sonora, CA — The Sonora City Council will vote to pass a $4.4 million spending plan for the fiscal year that starts tomorrow.
The City Council will hold a special meeting at 5pm to vote on the budget for fiscal year 2015. The budget up for vote would contain a $15,728 surplus. The Council recently held a study session to look at ways to cut costs. Some of the new budget reductions include deferring the purchase of a new patrol vehicle, reduce travel and training costs, eliminate funding for a website upgrade and cut funding that was going to go towards an Administrative Assistant position in the Police Department.
Tonight’s meeting at City Hall is open to the public.
