Fire Danger Extreme for the Fourth

Sponsored by:

Tuolumne and Calaveras County fire officials will be keeping a close watch during fireworks displays
tonight and tomorrow night, looking for private fireworks among the spectators.

Possession of any kind of fireworks is illegal in Tuolumne County, and
there are fines varying in size depending upon what kinds of incendiaries you´re caught with. If you are caught starting a fire, you can be fined and assessed the
full cost of putting it out.

This year July is much drier than it has been in past years, and the likelihood of a wildfire being started by fireworks is much
higher.
