Major Loss Averted in Calaveras

Some quick action by Calaveras County firefighters saved a house in Valley Springs, when a one acre blaze
broke out shortly before 1 pm yesterday.
Spokesperson Sharron Torrance says the fire started in the electrical system of a shed, and threatened to
engulf the nearby home. An air tanker drop stopped the fire, and allowed crews to get it surrounded.
