New Bowl Game May Help SF Economy

The San Francisco Bay Area´s economy may get an end-of-the-year boost – thanks to a New Year´s Eve college football bowl game.
Organizers of the Diamond Walnut San Francisco Bowl say they have already sold about 26,000 tickets to the game at Pacific Bell Park. The game will feature Virginia Tech and Air Force.
City officials say the game could add an $8.5 million boost to the local tourism industry. Organizers hope to sell almost 30,000 tickets before the Tuesday game. Prices range from 45 to 60 dollars a seat.
