Next Winter Storm Set To Hit Tonight

Sponsored by:

Another winter storm is expected to carry more heavy snow and high winds into California mountains tonight and Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings for the mountain areas including Shasta and Lake counties, the Burney Basin and the Sierra as far south as Kings Canyon and the Tulare County mountains. In the southern Sierra Nevada the winter storm warning extends into tomorrow night.

The renewed heavy snow tonight and tomorrow is expected to produce one to two feet of snow at elevations above 5,000 feet. Winds will be increasing late today with gusts as high as 70 miles per hour in the mountains expected tonight and tomorrow.

The National Weather Service cautions that drivers in the interior mountains of Northern and Central California can expect hazardous conditions of near zero visibility in heavy, blowing snow.
