Theft And Vandalism In The Motherlode
Tuolumne County Deputies are investigating the theft of items from unlocked vehicles on Ponderosa Way in Groveland, vandalism to a vehicle’s fifth wheel on Chaparral Road in Sonora, and the theft of a hot tub from a residence on Vantage Point Drive in Twain Harte.
The theft of a pistol is also under investigation. Someone burglarized a pickup truck located at the Church of the 49ers on Jackson Street in Columbia. A .45 caliber pistol in a locked case was reportedly stolen. The owner, attending a wedding at the time of the theft, found the gun and case missing and the latch on the sliding back window of the vehicle broken.
Deputies are also investigating vandalism to the Rifle Range on Highway 108 in Jamestown. Locks were cut on two storage buildings, cables on target activators cut, and a target was set ablaze in a storage shed.
A man was reported leaving the Outpost on the 20 thousand block of Soulsbyville Road with the nozzle of a gas pump lodged in the vehicle’s tank, causing damage to the pump.
