VP Speaks In Pleasanton

Sponsored by:

Vice President Dick Cheney defended the nation´s war on terror at a campaign fund-raiser in Pleasanton last night.

Cheney appeared to raise money for Congressman Richard Pombo of Tracy, and to draw attention to his campaign. But Cheney spent much of the evening updating the audience on the war in Afghanistan and elsewhere. He told the crowd the nation has to focus on parts of the world where terrorists could unite with governments that have access to weapons of mass destruction. The vice president said there are terror cells all over the world and the United States is the only nation with the resources to root them out and destroy them.
