State Forcing Reductions In Sonora Budget

Sonora Will be taking its budgetary lumps along with other California cities as lawmakers work through the state´s multi-billion dollar deficit this summer. Administrator Greg Applegate says adjustments have been made, but he´s still waiting for the other shoe to drop in Sacramento. The budget balances at $3.6 million, but lawmakers are expected to make more changes before the final version is signed.
Governor Gray Davis´ plan, now being scrutinized in the legislature, calls for cuts in city revenues, and a cutback in law enforcement grant money.
