Accused Strangler Waives Extradition

A man arrested in Nevada in the strangling death of a six year old Hayward, California, boy will be returning to California to face a murder charge. David Genong waived extradition during a hearing yesterday in Lovelock, Nevada. Genong was arrested Monday at a gas station in Lovelock. Police had been looking for him since the body of young Alex Martinez was discovered in Genong´s apartment over the weekend. Alex was last seen alive Saturday, riding his scooter at a birthday party. Genong lived downstairs from Alex´s family. The little boy was discovered dead in Genong´s apartment that night. He was bound in cloth.
