Remains Are Of Missing SoCal Girl

DNA tests are reported to show remains found in the woods near Chico are that of a Southern California girl whose father´s body was located nearby.

The Pasadena Star-News reports the deaths are being classified as a murder-suicide.

Eleven-year-old Jeanene Bonner was apparently shot in the head by her father during a road trip. The two were supposed to go to Lake Havasu in Arizona. The girl´s mother reported her daughter missing after one week. The mother, Alma Almodovar, was estranged from the father, Jack Garcia.

Garcia´s body was found May 29th in a pickup truck along Highway 32, a gun in his hand. His daughter´s body was found nearby one week later.
