Bears A Problem For Sloppy Campers, Residents

Complaints about bears are on the rise in California and Nevada. Officials are appealing to residents and campers in South Lake Tahoe to clean up garbage and dispose of it in bear-proof trash bins. They say they can do little once a bear starts becoming a nuisance, and rifles through garbage cans and campgrounds. California wildlife officer Doug Updike says home invasions by bears are becoming more frequent in California, which is home to more than 30,000 bears.
