Terror Alert “High”

Officials up and down the state say they are taking “all appropriate measures” to make sure California is safe during the increased terror alert.

In the Bay Area, the CHP has beefed up patrols on suspension bridges and around oil refineries. The security threat currently stands at orange, the second-highest level. Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge raised it yesterday, citing increased indicators that an attack is imminent.
