No Blackout Risk In California

Officials say there is no risk of the blackout that has hit the Northeast affecting California. Southern California Edison spokesman Tom Boyd says everything is operating normally at the utility. In his words, “We are isolated from this problem.”

The United States, along with portions of Canada and Mexico, are divided into three electrical grids. A spokeswoman for California´s grid manager says the Eastern, Western and Texas grids are not connected.
