State Coin Designs Coming In

The designs for California€™s commemorative quarter are piling up in Sacramento with just two years to go before the first coin is struck.
The prospective images are being narrowed down. Twenty designs are now posted on Governor Davis´ web site and you can cast your vote there for the one you prefer.
A DNA double helix is one choice. But it appears that the coin will most likely bear the image of the Golden Gate Bridge in some form. It appears in fully half of the final designs. After mulling the votes, Davis will select five finalists a year from now. The U.S. Mint makes the final selection.
