Get a parking ticket in Sonora… it´s going to cost you a lot more money to pay the fine.
The City of Sonora has raised parking ticket fines for the first time since 1996. An overtime parking violation fine now costs $20, up from $10 before the council decision this week. Other violation fines have shot up as well, some more than double.
The city administrator says the state is demanding more money — another dollar-fifty — from the five dollars per fine already being collected from the city.
