Budget Deadlock may End Soon

A deadlock over budget cuts and vehicle license fee increases is showing signs of breaking. The state Senate Monday approved a package of about $8.6 billion dollars in cuts and funding shifts that aren´t tied to raising the VLF. Governor Davis has said he´ll veto the VLF bill, even though it could kill budget cuts he´s seeking.
