If you enjoy hot and spicy foods, don´t miss Thursday´s (July 22) Columbia College weekly buffet, hosted by the college´s Summer Culinary & Pastry Arts Institute. The buffet is open to the public and will be served in The Cellar Restaurant of the Manzanita Building from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost is $7.95 per person, which includes the meal, a beverage and dessert with any gratuities as optional.
On this week´s menu are blackened alligator and chicken, Acadian peppered shrimp, red beans and rice, smothered okra, cole slaw, hush puppies, and banana split cake.
The popular buffets are planned, prepared and served by the students, who are being trained in commercial food preparation. For group reservations or information on the college´s Culinary & Pastry Arts Program, call Chef Gene Womble at 588-5135. Buffets will be hosted on Thursdays only through Aug. 5.
