More Side Effects From Vaccine Shortage

Sponsored by:

The effects of the unexpected reduction in flu vaccine availability means a shuffling of priorities as far as who will get their shot first.

The director of the Calaveras County Public Health Department says she was notified Tuesday by the state that it was unlikely that any flu vaccine would be shipped.

Thus, the planned vaccination clinics have been postponed indefinitely.

650 people were innoculated by the Calaveras County Health Department last year.

It´s a much more serious picture in San Joaquin County where nearly ten thousand patients and health care workers got the flu shot last year.

The state department of health services ordered almost 574-thousand doses from the Chiron Corporation… whose facilities in England were shut down this week due to contamination.
