State senators have responded to the governor´s budget plan which was announced this morning. Senator Charles Poochigian says it might not be easy… but it is necessary.
“It´s not an easy budget to pass, because it´s going to hurt some people and some programs. But he does protect education, K through 12, he gives more money to them and he gives local school boards more discretion on how to spend their money. I think the governor is doing what needs to be done for the state of California.”
Poochigian also says tax increases are probably a bad idea… and not an area of negotiation, as some Democrats in the state senate have suggested.
