The Mother Lode gets their first look at the brand new Sonora Regional Medical Center on Greenley Road today.
Hospital staff and administration has been working non-stop preparing for the 1 p.m. dedication ceremonies and open house this afternoon.
Marketing Director Gail Witzlsteiner says tours will be offered giving folks a chance to see areas of the hospital normally off-limits to the public. Live music, presentations, a ribbon cutting and live radion broadcasts will also highlight the afternoon.
The actual patient move date is Wednesday, January 14. At that time, the old Sonora Community Hospital on Forest Road will be closed and the new facility officially open. Staff expects the transition to Sonora Regional Medical Center will go without a hitch.
