Installation and Honors Banquet Awards

Sonora, CA — Several people are looking for the perfect place to display their awards after the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce banquet last night.

John and Susan Russel of Mountain Bookshop received Entrepreneur of the Year honors, they have owned the business since 1977.

The Russels´ say the whole family enjoys the business and they hope to be going strong for another 20 years.

Debi Russell was recognized with the Excellence in Government Award for her work as Assistant Auditor-Controller. Russell has been in the accounting field for thirty years.

Teacher of the Year honors went to Sonora High teacher Jim Roeber, who has spent 27 years at the high school. Roeber was the head coach for Track and Field and Cross Country for 22 years.

Five Students of the Year were also honored.
