Draft Report Warns Another California Energy Crisis Looms

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — Four years after electricity prices soared and blackouts rolled across California, the state is in danger of another energy crisis.

A report released today says this energy crisis would involve not just electricity, but gasoline and natural gas as well.

The Energy Commission report says California´s way of life is threatened by its growing dependence on oil and natural gas, spiraling energy prices, potential supply shortages and an aging energy delivery infrastructure.

The draft was released today at the end of a three-day international conference on global warming. Commissioners will vote on adopting the report on November 16th.
