Sacramento, CA — A recent survey indicates that almost two-thirds of independent voters are in support of Proposition 77, which would restructure the state´s election districts.
The group Committee For Independent Voice polled 500 unaffiliated voters during the month of August.
The study shows that 63% of those surveyed came out in support of the redistricting reform initiative.
The group says 6% opposed the measure and 31% were undecided. The measure would allow a panel of retired judges to redraw the state´s election districts based on geography.
The initiative would have to pass unanimously and be ratified by the voters in the next election.
The organization did not report the survey´s margin of error.
