Forest Service Invites Public To Celebrate Centennial Event
Sonora, CA — The Forest Service announced Friday that the Stanislaus National Forest has launched a web page that highlights the Forest Service Centennial, and invites the public to a celebration event on October 15th at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora.
The October 15th event, entitled “Celebrate Your National Forests—The First 100 Years,” will commemorate the agency´s history and highlight the many connections between the community and the National Forests; from grazing to bird watching; water developments to hiking; from logging to nature photography, and from off road vehicle use to finding solitude.
The event will feature music, live theater, and many demonstrations including firefighters in action, and live forest animals The public is also invited to visit the newly launched Stanislaus National Forest Centennial website.
