Groveland, CA — The City of Groveland is considering whether to substantially raise its water and sewer rates to defray rising operation expenses and budget cuts.
The proposed rate hikes would increase sewer bills by more than 40% and water costs by almost 30%. The utility district is also planning to upgrade its system over the next five years at a potential cost of millions of dollars.
Officials say they will be sending out letters to their customers to explain the proposed increases.
The proposed increases could go before the Board of Directors by mid-July. If approved the hikes would go into effect in September.
