House Passes Bill To Create Criminal Charge For Harming Fetus

Modesto, CA — Modeled after California´s 30 year old law that allowed Scott Peterson to be charged with a double murder for killing his pregnant wife Laci, Oregon passed the so-called Laci Peterson bill Thursday.
It creates a criminal charge for harming or killing a fetus. The bill also adds pregnancy to the list of circumstances that qualify for the death penalty in an aggravated murder case in Oregon.
The House passed the bill 37-to-21 and sent it to the Senate.
