Sacramento, CA — The cost of gasoline is finally going down, according to a new report by AAA of Northern California.

The statewide average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in California decreased by 11 cents a gallon compared to the last AAA report in April.

A spokesperson for AAA says that in the short term, there now appears to be reason for consumers to be cautiously optimistic.

Throughout Northern California, the average price per gallon is $2.55.

The nationwide average price is now 37 cents a gallon less than California´s average.
