No Charges In Fatal Fight After Sacramento Kings Game
Sacramento, CA — The Sacramento County district attorney says a basketball fan killed in a fist fight following a Sacramento Kings game was the aggressor, and no charges will be filed against the men who fought him in self-defense.
Mark Leidheisl, a 39-year-old Wells Fargo Bank senior vice president, died two days after receiving severe head injuries in an April 20 fight in the Arco Arena parking lot.
District Attorney Jan Scully says he had traces of opiates in his blood and was legally drunk at the time of the fight.
Witnesses say he nearly sideswiped a sport utility vehicle, then challenged the occupants to a fight.
He died after one of the men punched him once in the face, causing him to fall backward and fatally fracture his skull.
