Election Countdown: Yosemite Community College District

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — It´s just about one week before the November 7 General Election and the candidates for the Yosemite Community College District board want voters to know why there are qualified for the job.

Two candidates are looking to fill the open seat in trustee area 1.

Incumbent board member Pat Dean of Sonora says she´s the right choice because she has the experience, education, energy and time. Dean is a retired teacher and registered nurse. She has been on the board for a little over three years.

Jeff Craft is Dean´s opponent and lives in Tuolumne. He is a volunteer mental health counselor specializing in suicide prevention. Craft says he´s qualified to take the job because he´s been on the Columbia College student senate and has working relationships with the student body and faculty.

Among other areas, the district covers parts of Calaveras County and all of Tuolumne County. District colleges include Columbia College and Modesto Junior College.
