Wanted Man Killed After Running Over Deputy
Angels Camp, CA– A wanted man is dead after an altercation with deputies.
Calaveras County sheriff´s deputies along with Angels Camp police were attempting to arrest James Patrick Krauth Friday midnight, in the Melones Lake marina parking lot. He was wanted for killing a Santa Clara woman.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the 25-year-old suspect refused to step out of his vehicle and then ran into a deputy, launching him over the hood of the car. The 25-year-old suspect was then shot and killed by law enforcement deputies.
The law enforcement officer, who was hit by the car was taken to Mark Twain Saint Joseph´s Hospital where he was treated and released.
The two deputies involved in the shooting are on paid leave as part of department policy. The investigation is ongoing.
