Sponsored by:

Officials believe that a plane may have unexpectedly gone down somewhere in the Sierra Nevada.

The Associated Press reports that Robert H. Brown left Minden-Tahoe Airport at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in a single-engine aircraft bound for Tracy. The plane is believed to be down somewhere in Northern California, likely the Sierra Nevada. The search has primarily been focused in the El Dorado and Amador County region.

Brown is reportedly a winery owner and philanthropist who lives in Carson Valley.
