Affirmative Action…Cookies?

Sponsored by:

Some Republican college students at the University of California at Berkeley cooked up an unusual protest today. The students held an affirmative action bake sale.

The students priced cookies according to the race or ethnicity of the buyer. So a white student had to pay $1.50, while a black student paid only a quarter.

The sale got mixed reactions. Some students say there are problems with affirmative action. But others say a cookie sale is too simplistic and doesn´t take into account racial inequalities in our society.
