Rim Fire: No Structures Threatened

Tuolumne County, CA — At one point nearly 5,000 structures were considered threatened by the Rim Fire, but officials now say no homes or buildings are in danger.

The fire is still estimated to be 256,169 acres and 84% contained. 11 homes were destroyed, 98 outbuildings and three commercial buildings. 1,791 firefighters are on scene this morning. Fire crews will continue mop-up efforts today and work to keep the blaze within its existing containment lines. Fire crews will no longer work throughout the evening hours. The estimated full containment date is still September 20.
