San Andreas, CA — Calaveras County is asking for the governor and president to declare a localized disaster for damage caused by recent flooding.
The declaration would help secure money to pay for reconstruction.
33 homes were affected by the flooding totaling $800,000 in damage.
Local infrastructure damage is estimated at $1.2 million.
The last time a president declared a disaster locally was in the 1992 Old Gulch Fire.
