Sponsored by:

Yosemite,CA– A wide area of Northern California is turning into a winter wonderland.

A low pressure system packing plenty of moisture is moving through the area, covering mountains across the region with fresh snow. The National Weather Service has a winter storm warning in effect for the Sierra Nevada from Yosemite Park to the Kern County line.

Forecasters are predicting up to three feet of snow to fall in elevations above five-thousand feet. Heavy snow is also predicted the foothills in east of Sacramento Valley and north to western Plumas County.

Snow also fell on Bay Area mountains this morning, with snowplows called out to clear snow on Highway 29 in Napa County. Higher elevations in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties also received a dusting of snow.
