Mokelumne Hill Resident Charged With D.U.I.

San Andreas, CA — 35 year old Shawn Worthington of Mokelumne Hill was arrested Saturday evening for driving under the influence following an accident on Murphys Grade Rd.
Worthington was eastbound east of French Gulch Rd. at a speed in excess of 45mph when she failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the south roadway edge. Her 1987 Jeep Cherokee traveled down an embankment first colliding with a pine tree and then coming to rest in a creek bed approximately 30 feet below the roadway.
Worthington was transported to Memorial Medical Center by air ambulance where she was treated for moderate injuries.
The C.H.P., in turn, arrested Worthington for driving under the influence of alcohol.
